We believe luxury should come with peace of mind, so we’ve answered your most common questions below.

SHIPPING

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Standard delivery typically arrives within 2–6 business days, depending on your location.

Please note: Orders placed during peak seasons, sales, or holidays may experience slight delays. Once shipped, you’ll receive an email confirmation with tracking details.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes. At checkout, you’ll have the option to select express shipping. We’ll do our best to prioritize expedited orders, but same-day fulfillment is not guaranteed.


Do you ship internationally?

At this time, we only ship within the United States. We hope to offer international shipping soon — join our newsletter to be the first to know when we expand!


How much is shipping?

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and delivery method. We occasionally offer complimentary domestic shipping on select orders — be sure to watch for promotions!

What are scent notes?

A luxury candle’s fragrance evolves in layers, just like fine perfume. Here’s how to experience the full aromatic journey:

  • Top Notes: These are the first scents you’ll notice when the candle is unlit or just lit — light, fresh, and fleeting.
  • Middle Notes (Heart Notes): As the candle continues to burn, these scents begin to bloom and define the candle’s true character.
  • Base Notes: Deep, grounding scents that emerge once the wax has fully melted — usually within the first hour — and linger in the air long after extinguishing.

Together, the heart and base notes create the full-bodied signature scent of every Away Luxury Goods candle.

How long will my candle last?

Burn times depend on size and care:

  • 10–12 oz candles: ~70–80 hours – ideal for open-concept spaces or living rooms
  • 8–9 oz candles: ~50–60 hours – perfect for bedrooms or kitchens
  • 5–7 oz candles: ~30–40 hours – great for bathrooms, nightstands, or travel

For best results, trim your wick to ¼” before each burn and allow a full melt pool to form on the first use.

What wax do we use, and why?

We use a clean-burning, soy & paraffin wax blend for its smooth finish, superior scent throw, and even burn. This blend:

  • Is primarily soy and includes a tiny amount of food grade paraffin
  • Is plant-based and non-toxic
  • Is gluten-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free
  • Includes only FDA-approved waxes
  • Offers both luxury performance and peace of mind

Our wax choice reflects our commitment to safe, elevated experiences for your home and well-being.


Why does wax choice matter?

Not all candles are created equal. Many mass-market candles use inexpensive paraffin-only wax that can emit more soot and chemicals. Our soy blend minimizes this while still delivering exceptional fragrance diffusion, offering a cleaner, more conscious burn for you and your space.


Can I reuse my candle vessel?

Absolutely!  In fact, we encourage it. Sustainability is central to the Away Luxury Goods ethos. Here’s how to give your vessel new life:


  1. Place your finished candle in the freezer for a few hours
  2. Pop out any remaining wax and remove the wick tab
  3. Wash the vessel with warm, soapy water or your favorite cleanser
  4. Repurpose and enjoy!

Ideas for reusing your vessel:

  • Elegant pen or match holder
